Job description Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Barback to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced bar environment. As a Barback, you will play a crucial role in supporting bartenders by ensuring that the bar is well-stocked, clean, and organized. This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in the food and beverage industry while working in a vibrant atmosphere. Duties Assist bartenders in preparing drinks and serving customers promptly. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including washing glassware and cleaning surfaces. Stock and replenish supplies, such as liquor, beer, mixers, garnishes, and glassware as needed. Clear empty glasses and bottles from tables and the bar area to ensure a tidy environment. Support with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and notifying management of shortages. Communicate effectively with bartenders and other staff to ensure smooth service during busy periods. Adhere to all food handling and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment. Skills Previous experience in a restaurant or food service setting is preferred but not required. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and customers. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of food handling practices is beneficial for maintaining hygiene standards. Experience in catering or hotel environments is a plus but not mandatory. A proactive attitude towards cleaning and maintaining the bar area is essential. Familiarity with bussing techniques to assist with clearing tables when necessary.
