Lead Bartender / Mixologist Lokal Eatery & Bar - Jersey City, NJ Lokal Eatery & Bar is a high-energy, upscale Modern American restaurant with strong Mediterranean influences, built around shareable plates, vibrant service, and a dynamic bar program. We are looking for a Lead Bartender / Mixologist to take ownership of our bar—someone who understands both the craft and the business of bartending. This is a leadership role for someone who can create a compelling cocktail experience while driving consistency, efficiency, and team performance behind the bar. What You'll Do Lead and manage all bar operations during service Develop and execute a seasonal, elevated cocktail program aligned with Lokal's brand Train, mentor, and hold bartenders accountable to standards Maintain consistency in execution, presentation, and guest experience Oversee inventory, ordering, and cost control (liquor cost, waste, pour accuracy) Collaborate with ownership and kitchen on menu pairings and new offerings Ensure bar cleanliness, organization, and readiness at all times Step into service as needed—this is a hands-on role What We're Looking For 4+ years bartending experience, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership role Strong knowledge of classic cocktails, modern techniques, and flavor balance Ability to create drinks that are approachable yet refined —not overly complicated, but memorable Experience with high-volume service while maintaining quality A natural leader who can train and elevate a team Strong understanding of bar cost control and operational systems Professional, composed, and guest-focused at all times What Sets You Apart You care about the details—glassware, garnish, ice, and presentation all matter You understand that great bartending is as much about hospitality as it is about technique You can build a bar program that works both creatively and financially You take pride in building a team, not just making drinks Compensation Competitive hourly + tips Leadership growth opportunity within an expanding hospitality group About Lokal Lokal is designed to bring people together through food and drink.
