Full Job Description Position Summary:
The Marble Brewery Bartender creates a welcoming, knowledgeable, and consistent guest experience by serving craft beer, preparing beverages, and engaging guests in a way that reflects Marble's hospitality culture. As a tip‑eligible position participating in the taproom's tip pool, this role contributes directly to the guest experience through warm, informed service and hands‑on support of taproom operations. Bartenders maintain a clean and safe environment, uphold all alcohol service policies, and help shape the overall atmosphere of the taproom.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Experience & Service Deliver a welcoming, positive, and knowledgeable guest experience that reflects Marble's hospitality culture. Engage guests with confidence and warmth, offering recommendations based on their preferences and guiding them through Marble's beer lineup. Serve craft beer, cocktails, and non‑beer beverages with accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail. Maintain awareness of guest behavior to ensure responsible alcohol service, including checking IDs, monitoring consumption, and refusing service when appropriate. Address guest questions, concerns, or issues with professionalism. Product Knowledge & Education Communicate beer knowledge in a friendly, accessible way that enhances the guest experience without pretension. Stay informed about rotating taps, seasonal releases, and special offerings. Operational Skills Process guest payments accurately and maintain accountability for all transactions throughout the shift. Restock and replenish bar supplies, glassware, garnishes, and the reach‑in "to‑go" beer cooler. Maintain clean, organized, and well‑presented bar and taproom areas, including performing opening, mid‑shift, and closing duties. Monitor and adjust sound and lighting levels to maintain appropriate ambience. Follow all sanitation, safety, and cleanliness standards to ensure a safe environment for guests and staff. Assist with general taproom tasks and support the team to keep operations running smoothly and efficiently. Compliance & Responsible Service Adhere to Marble's Alcohol Service Policy and all state and local regulations. Attend Marble's Responsible Alcohol Service seminar at least annually. Identify and appropriately manage intoxicated or disruptive guests to maintain a safe environment. Teamwork & Communication Work collaboratively with all levels of taproom leadership and staff to deliver a consistent, high‑quality guest experience. Communicate clearly and respectfully with team members to support smooth service flow. Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and team‑oriented work environment. Beer Quality & Line Maintenance Learn and follow proper draft system and line‑cleaning procedures to ensure consistently excellent beer quality. Report any issues with draft equipment, product quality, or bar functionality promptly.
Qualifications:
Experience in hospitality, bartending, or high‑volume service environments. Current New Mexico Alcohol Server Certification (or ability to obtain before start date). Passion for craft beer, cocktails, and guest‑focused service. Strong communication skills and the ability to engage guests with confidence and warmth. Self‑motivated, reliable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Working Conditions:
Work performed in a busy taproom/bar environment with frequent guest interaction. Must be comfortable engaging with the public, including occasionally managing intoxicated or challenging guests. Requires a flexible schedule including days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, festivals, and special events.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods while serving guests and preparing beverages. Frequent use of hands and arms to reach, handle, and operate bar equipment. Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, and lift or carry 25-50 lbs regularly (kegs, cases, boxes, etc.). Ability to move through crowded spaces and maintain composure in a loud, fast‑paced environment. Must be able to communicate clearly and think independently while multitasking.
