Full-Time / Part-Time We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Bartender/Server to join our vibrant, family-owned Caribbean restaurant. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing exceptional service in a fast-paced environment while being comfortable working both behind the bar and on the dining floor. This dual-role position is perfect for someone who thrives on versatility and delivering memorable guest experiences.
Duties:
Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes or customer preferences. Provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests at the bar and tables, taking orders, and offering menu recommendations. Accurately input and process orders using the POS system. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar and service stations, including restocking supplies, garnishes, and glassware. Monitor inventory levels for liquor, mixers, and supplies, and communicate needs to management. Ensure all NYS alcohol service laws and health safety regulations are followed at all times. Serve food and beverages to dining guests while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor. Collaborate with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure accurate and timely service. Handle cash and credit card transactions, close tabs, and balance at the end of shifts. Assist with setup and breakdown of bar and dining area before and after shifts.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in both bartending and serving roles in a restaurant or hospitality setting is strongly preferred. Must be 18 years of age or older to serve alcohol in the state of New York. Strong time management and multitasking abilities to handle high-volume periods. Familiarity with food safety regulations, alcohol service laws, and basic math for handling transactions. Proficiency in using POS systems (Aloha preferred). Excellent communication skills and a professional, guest-first attitude. Team-oriented with the ability to stay calm and focused under pressure.
