Serve, Commitment, Stewardship and Consistency, to ensure a great work environment for everyone. Take beverage orders from guests and servers. Learn the names and personally recognize our regular guests. Record drink order accurately and immediately after receipt into the register system. Accept guests' payments, process credit card charges and makes changes (if applicable). Prepare garnishes for drinks and replenish appetizers for bar guests. Maintain bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages. Clear and resets tables in bar area. Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves and storage areas. Receive and serve food orders to guests seated at the bar. Report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to the General Manager of the restaurant. Assist the restocking and replenishment of bar inventory and supplies. Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the General Manager or Manager on Duty. Ensure that all drinks and products are consistently prepared and served according to The Basement's recipes, portioning, presentation and serving standards. Ensure that all equipment is kept clean and kept in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following The Basement's preventative maintenance programs. Control beverage cost and usage by following proper requisition of products from storage areas, product storage procedures, standard recipes and waste control procedures. Be knowledgeable of restaurant policies regarding personnel and administer prompt, fair and consistent corrective action for any and all violations of company policies, rules and procedures. Responsible for maintaining appropriate cleaning schedules for front of the house floors, mats, walls, other equipment and storage areas. Maintaining updated working knowledge of current operating systems and POS.
Qualifications:
Must be able to communicate clearly with leadership, managers, kitchen and dining room personnel and guests. Be willing to serve and entertain guests according to the perceived atmosphere and expectation of guests. Have working knowledge of beer, wine and liquor and common drink recipes. Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 25 pounds. Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 12 hours). Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment. Willing to work a flexible schedule. Attention to detail.
