POSITION SUMMARY
The Bartender is responsible for providing excellent hospitality to guests while preparing and serving beverages accurately, efficiently, and professionally. The bartender is an important part of the guest experience and is expected to create a welcoming, friendly, and enjoyable environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Greet guests promptly and warmly. Provide genuine hospitality and make guests feel welcome. Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to Chicken Shack standards. Take beverage orders accurately and efficiently. Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar. Check on guests throughout their visit and anticipate their needs. Communicate with servers, kitchen staff, runners, and management. Assist servers and other FOH employees when needed. Keep the bar, tables, equipment, and surrounding areas clean. Follow all responsible alcohol service laws and Chicken Shack policies. Verify identification when required. Monitor guests and notify management when necessary. Handle payments and guest checks accurately. Maintain proper portion control and minimize waste. Restock beer, liquor, mixers, glassware, ice, and other supplies. Complete opening, side-work, and closing responsibilities. Address guest concerns professionally and involve management when appropriate. Maintain a positive and professional attitude during busy periods.
HOSPITALITY EXPECTATIONS
The bartender is expected to go beyond simply making drinks.
We expect our bartenders to:
Make eye contact and acknowledge every guest. Learn regular guests' preferences when possible. Check on guests before they have to ask. Offer refills and additional beverages appropriately. Compliment guests and create positive interactions. Help other FOH employees when they are busy. Treat every guest with respect and urgency. Create an atmosphere that makes guests want to come back.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS A
successful bartender consistently demonstrates: Hospitality — Makes guests feel welcome and valued. Speed — Works efficiently without sacrificing quality. Accuracy — Gets drink orders, checks, payments, and portions correct. Cleanliness — Keeps the bar and work area clean throughout the shift. Teamwork — Supports servers, runners, kitchen staff, and management. Product Knowledge — Understands the beverages and products being served. Professionalism — Maintains a positive attitude and represents Chicken Shack properly. Responsibility — Follows alcohol-service laws, company policies, and management direction.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry beverage cases and supplies. Ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
Pay:
$2.15 - $5.00 per hour Expected hours: 25.0 - 38.0 per week
