EXPERIENCE.Jade Rabbit is an entirely vegan dim sum restaurant, family-friendly destination in Portland's Buckman neighborhood. Our establishment features a vegan dim sum experience, pan-Asian fare, tea service, sake, NA beverages and cocktails. You'll be joining a worker owned inclusive crew with queer-POC/ally worker owners who are involved in every aspect of the business, every day. We all make $25/hr from Dishwasher to FOH Manager, Prep Cook to Executive Chef. We work really hard to see everyone here has a healthy and accountable work environment and learns a ton in the process to keep this operation humming. Expectations:

This position is exactly of what you'd expect for a FOH server. You'll be greeting guests, educating customers about the food and tea, taking food orders, executing drink orders, and following up with customers all throughout their dining experience to ensure it is memorable and pleasant. We'd like someone who is...Seasoned server with 2+ years (or equivalent) of full-time experience in a full-service restaurant and/or bar environment.

Understanding of tea and tea service and/or desire to learn and understand more about our tea's cultural significance. Willing to learn about vegan/Asian cuisine and is capable of memorizing terms deriving from Asian languages/cultures as they pertain to the dishes we're serving.

Knows how to meet customers where they are at while maintaining a friendly, funny, and smart demeanor (even amidst the chaos of dinner crunch).Sense of urgency when working and always looking to complete the next task at hand. Shifts prioritize customer service above all but we all pitch in on housekeeping. Prep for bar is a common task during a shift, expect to learn prep work.
