We are seeking a skilled and creative Bartender to join the team at The Tavern on the Square, an upscale, farm-to-table dining restaurant known for its craft cocktails, premium spirits, and exceptional service. The ideal candidate should possess a deep passion for mixology, a strong knowledge of spirits and beverages, and a commitment to delivering a personalized and memorable bar experience for our guests. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for servicing the thirteen seat full dining bar while fulfilling server drink tickets for the additional one hundred dining room guests.
Responsibilities:
Cocktail Craftsmanship:
Make variety of craft cocktails with precision, adhering to recipes and presentation guidelines. Innovate and develop new cocktail recipes that align with the restaurant's concept and elevate the guest experience.
Guest Interaction:
Welcome guests to the bar area with warmth and professionalism, providing a personalized and engaging experience. Offer expert guidance on food and drink selections, providing insights into flavors, ingredients, and pairings.
Beverage Knowledge:
Possess an extensive understanding of various spirits, wines, and beers, as well as their production processes and origins.
Service Excellence:
Prepare and serve beverages promptly and accurately, demonstrating exceptional mixology skills and attention to detail. Maintain a clean and organized bar area, ensuring all tools, glassware, and ingredients are readily available.
Upselling and Recommendations:
Upsell premium beverages and recommend pairings to enhance the overall dining experience and contribute to revenue growth. Customize cocktails to cater to guest preferences, accommodating special requests and dietary needs.
Collaboration:
Collaborate with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure seamless communication and efficient service. Prepare beverages for servers and support staff as needed, maintaining a harmonious teamwork dynamic.
Bar Management:
Monitor inventory levels of beverages, mixers, garnishes, and bar supplies, notifying management and bar-backs when restocking is required. Ensure adherence to responsible alcohol service guidelines and legal drinking age requirements.
Presentation and Aesthetics:
Present beverages in an aesthetically pleasing manner, paying attention to glassware selection, garnishes, and overall presentation.
Customer Relationship:
Build rapport with regular guests, remembering their preferences and creating a welcoming atmosphere that encourages return visits.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a bartender in a restaurant or bar. Extensive knowledge of mixology, spirits, wines, and beer. Exceptional creativity in cocktail creation and presentation. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage guests. Proficiency in using bar equipment and POS systems. Impeccable grooming and a polished, professional appearance. Ability to multitask and work efficiently during high-volume periods. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
