Barback and Food Runner Mission Taqueria Philadelphia, PA Job Details Part-time | Full-time $20 - $32 an hour 19 hours ago Benefits Flexible schedule Food provided Qualifications Guest relations Interpersonal skills Bussing Employee relationship building Packaging Cleaning Full Job Description •Must have Tuesday-Thursday availability with flexibility on the weekends•Food Runner / Barback We are looking for a Runner to join our team and assist with running food from the kitchen to all dining areas, packaging takeout items, and stocking the line. Responsibilities also include table maintenance such as setting, clearing, and cleaning tables. We are also looking for a Barback to join our team and assist our bartenders and handle bar prep. Responsibilities include juicing citrus/various fruits for cocktail prep, batching cocktails in a large-scale format, changing beer kegs, stocking the bar and liquor closet, and assisting bartenders with service and clean up at the bar. To be considered for this role, you should be available to work various shifts, primarily Tuesday-Thursday evenings. This isn't your typical hybrid position. This is a very busy space. We are looking for someone who can hustle and work with a team. If you can manage all that for 7 hours while smiling :) please respond to our ad! Responsibilities Provides excellent hospitality to guests ALWAYS be smiling Demonstrates excellent knowledge of all menu details and preparations, allergen information, and possible modifications Provides excellent food presentation, table side troubleshooting, table maintenance; balances multiple dishes gracefully Provides exemplary bar maintenance, follows recipes appropriately for cocktail prep, can work independently and as a team Follows proper food safety measure when prepping juice and cocktails; labels and stores all ingredients appropriately Masters all applicable equipment (cocktail kegs, beer kegs, frozen cocktail machines) Act as a contact point between Chef, Front of House, and Back of House Communicate with dish-washing staff in regard to needs for stocking the line Assist the wait staff by fetching and placing appropriate tableware, utensils, napkins, and bussing when needed. Check in with customers and remove any unnecessary or dirty dishes and utensils from the table. Inform restaurant staff about customers' feedback or requests (e.g. when they ask for the check, need to place an order) Really just looking for a team player! Skills Experience as a Runner & Barback in a restaurant setting Understanding of hygiene and food safety rules Physical ability and stamina to carry heavy trays, lift 50 pounds, and stand for long hours indoors and outdoors. Availability to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays Multi-tasking abilities Good oral communication skills Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced work environment Contributes to a positive and proactive culture in the restaurant; builds and maintains positive relationships with guests and industry professionals Excellent troubleshooting abilities; remain calm and professional in a fast-paced work environment
