In this pivotal role, you will curate exceptional wine selections, oversee beverage service standards, and elevate the overall guest experience through your refined palate and leadership. Your deep understanding of wine, spirits, and food pairing will inspire our team and delight our guests. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary and sales skills in a dynamic, fine dining environment dedicated to excellence. Our food menu is a 6 dish plus dessert tasting menu centered around Pennsylvania ingredients. Our wine selection will feature 50 bottles that represent both esoteric and traditional producers from around the world. We work with biodynamic and organic producers exclusively. Our wine selection will be built to be enjoyed during a lunch program, tasting menu and for togo bottle shop sales. Responsibilities Curate and manage an extensive wine and aromatised wine list, ensuring a diverse and high-quality selection that aligns with the restaurant's concept. Lead menu planning efforts for for lunch, tasting menu, casual by the glass and online bottle shop sales Provide expert guidance to guests on wine selections, food pairings, and beverage options, fostering memorable dining experiences. Train and mentor staff on beverage knowledge, serving techniques, upselling strategies, and food safety standards. Oversee daily beverage operations including inventory management, Toast POS systme usage, RESY and cash handling, and ordering processes. Maintain compliance with food safety regulations and ensure proper food handling practices within the beverage department. Collaborate with culinary teams on menu development, catering events, banquet services, and special occasions to deliver seamless service excellence. Qualifications Proven experience in fine dining restaurants or similar high-end food service environments with a strong background in wine or beverage management. Extensive knowledge of wine varieties, spirits, cocktail preparation, menu planning, and food industry trends. Experience with toast POS systems and RESY. Demonstrated skills in sales, upselling techniques, customer service excellence, and serving etiquette. Familiarity with banquet experience, catering operations, cash handling procedures, and food safety standards. Culinary experience or background in meal preparation enhances ability to collaborate effectively with kitchen teams. Strong leadership qualities with the ability to train staff on wine handling protocols and customer engagement strategies.
