Job Description
Check identification to verify legal drinking age and membership status, ensuring all guests are signed-in, Cleaning inside and immediate area outside Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes and customer preferences.
Monitor inventory levels of beverages and supplies, restocking as necessary to ensure smooth operations. Overview We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Bartender/Asst Bar Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food and beverage industry, providing exceptional service to veterans of the United States Armed Forces, their families and guests within the Canteen of a federally recognized American Legion post. As a Bartender/Asst Bar Manager, you will be responsible for serving drinks, handling gaming operations, and ordering bar supplies as well as a welcoming atmosphere in our establishment. Duties • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, Take customer food and beverage orders and provide recommendations based on their preferences, up-selling when possible, Deliver food orders to tables/bar and clear items in a timely fashion when guests are finished, Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including stocking supplies, beer, and liquor, Adhere to all gambling, food safety and alcohol service regulations, Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently, including balancing a cash drawer at the end of a shift, Sell and redeem pull-tab tickets, including opening and closing games, Collaborate with the kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of food orders and preparation for service, Provide excellent customer service and address customer concerns or complaints in person or by phone, The employee may be required to perform other necessary duties as assigned. Order/Maintain gambling tickets as needed. Weekly liquor order Coordinate beer and wine deliveries with Wilsbach Products weekly and Ace Distributors biweekly. Ordering of drink supplies as needed. Maintaining Daily Book and ensure all SGOC reports are updated in JARTREK. Collaborate with kitchen staff and other team members to deliver excellent service during busy periods. Adhere to all safety, health, and sanitation regulations in the preparation and serving of food and beverages. Skills Strong background in food service or hospitality with an understanding of customer service principles. Proficient in math skills, particularly retail math for accurate cash handling and drink pricing. Experience in the food industry is preferred; familiarity with brewing techniques is a plus. Excellent sales skills to promote drink specials and upsell menu items effectively. Ability to operate a cash register efficiently while maintaining attention to detail during transactions. Knowledge of bartending techniques, cocktail recipes, and beverage pairings is essential. Strong communication skills to interact positively with guests and team members alike.
