The Bartender/Server is a dual role responsible for providing exceptional service to our members and guests. This position requires a versatile individual who can seamlessly transition between bartending and serving duties, ensuring an outstanding dining experience at our member-only golf club.
Job Responsibilities:
Bartending Prepare and serve a wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to members and guests according to club standards. Maintain a clean and well-organized bar area, ensuring all equipment and supplies are properly stocked. Interact with members and guests in a friendly and professional manner, taking drink orders and offering recommendations. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and alcohol service regulations. Handle cash, credit, and member charge transactions accurately. Assist with inventory management and ordering of bar supplies. Serving Greet members and guests promptly and courteously. Present menus, answer questions, and take accurate food and beverage orders. Relay orders to the kitchen and bar staff promptly and efficiently. Serve food and beverages following established timing and presentation standards. Monitor guest satisfaction and respond to additional requests or concerns. Maintain hygiene standards by cleaning and sanitizing tables and bar areas as needed. Suggest additional menu items, such as desserts or beverages, as appropriate. Operate the POS system to input orders, process payments, and reconcile end-of-shift receipts. Set up and break down service areas, including stocking supplies and preparing for the next shift. Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and hygiene protocols. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth service operations. Assist with special events and private functions as needed.
Qualifications, Education, & Experience:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each responsibility successfully. This person much present a neat appearance and have a warm, cheerful personality. Tact and good judgment are especially beneficial characteristics. This person must also possess the knowledge, skill, and ability to carry out the job responsibilities. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. High school diploma or equivalent; additional hospitality or culinary training is a plus. Proven experience as a bartender and/or server, preferably in a high-end or private club setting. Knowledge of a wide range of beverages, including wine, beer, and cocktails. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Valid state alcohol service certification and food handler's permit.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, often for several hours at a time. Capability to lift and carry trays, dishes up to 25-50 pounds. Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching. Ability to carry and balance heavy trays with food or beverages. Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Ability to maneuver in tight spaces when necessary. Requires fine motor skills to handle table settings, glassware, and serving utensils. Ability to push, pull, or move carts and other equipment. Comfortable working in varying temperatures, including warm kitchen areas.
