Job Description

Ready to Start Your Career with the City of Temple? Summary Bartender/Server provides outstanding beverage service to Mayborn Convention Center guests. Knowledge of food & alcohol products, methods of preparation, proper terminology, and proper service techniques are required. Responsible for inventory control of stock. This position is part-time and tied to the Convention Events Calendar. Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Sells/serves food & alcoholic beverages according to TABC standards Accepts money and credit cards and balances cash draws daily Possess familiarity with menus and can explain ingredients and preparation of all items Welcomes guests/customers in a friendly, courteous manner at all times Interacts tactfully and professionally with the public and customers per Department Customer Service Standards Follows all City and Convention Center financial policies Cleans serving and bar areas and store equipment properly Assists Manager with pre-event and post-event inventories and other duties as assigned Follows City policies, procedures, and safety guidelines Performs other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent One (1) year of experience providing similar food/beverage services Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in private clubs Certifications and Licenses Valid driver's license Texas Food Handler's Certification or ability to obtain within two (2) weeks of hire TABC Certification or ability to obtain within two (2) weeks of hire Thank you for your interest in the position.
