Barback and Food Runner Daniel O'Connell's Irish Restaurant & Bar Alexandria, VA Job Details Part-time From $13 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Customer communication Teamwork Collaboration Attention to detail Hospitality industry experience Plating Full Job Description Overview We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Food Runner and Barback to join our team in a fast-paced hospitality environment. The Food Runner and bar back plays a crucial role in ensuring that our guests receive their orders promptly and accurately, contributing to an exceptional dining experience. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for customer service. $13 per hour plus weekly tips. Duties Deliver food from the kitchen to the dining area efficiently and accurately. Assist servers by ensuring timely delivery of orders and maintaining communication between the kitchen and front-of-house staff. Ensure that all food items are presented attractively and meet quality standards before serving. Assist bartenders by stocking bars with beers, fruit, cleaning glasses Bussing tables and ensuring cleanliness is adhered to both FOH and BOH Help maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during busy service periods. Handle special requests or dietary restrictions with care, ensuring guest satisfaction. Support banquet functions as needed, assisting with setup, service, and breakdown. Qualifications Previous experience in food service or hospitality is preferred but not required. Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact positively with guests and team members. Knowledge of culinary terms and food presentation standards is beneficial. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. A positive attitude and willingness to help others in a team-oriented setting.
