Job Description

About Us:
Spirits Bar & Grill is more than just a restaurant; we are a casual dining experience deeply committed to our community and sustainable practices. Our mission is to provide delicious food and a welcoming atmosphere while serving as a vital support system for Bayside Housing & Services . A portion of our proceeds directly funds efforts to house and support vulnerable members of our community. As a FOH Supervisor, you are a leader in our mission-driven environment, ensuring that our "farm-to-table" story is told with passion and that our operations run smoothly and ethically.
Position Summary:
The Front of House (FOH) Supervisor is a full-time, dual-role leadership position requiring a blend of administrative management, expert mixology, and high-energy floor leadership. You will oversee the daily operations of the dining room and bar, ensuring the highest standards of hospitality are met. You are expected to lead by example—whether that means crafting a signature cocktail using garden-grown botanicals, managing a complex floor chart during a rush, or stepping in as a server or bartender when the team needs support.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Management:
Supervise FOH staff (servers, hosts, and bussers) to ensure consistent service standards. Assist in scheduling, floor assignments, and managing labor costs in real-time. Conduct pre-shift meetings to communicate daily specials, garden harvests, and mission-related updates. Handle guest concerns with grace and authority, resolving issues before they leave the building. Mentor and train new team members on the
TOAST POS
system and service protocols.
Bar & Beverage Excellence:
Oversee bar operations, ensuring consistency in drink preparation and pour controls. Utilize your bartending expertise to develop seasonal cocktails featuring produce and edible flowers from our onsite gardens. Maintain bar inventory, place orders, and ensure the bar remains a clean, organized, and profitable department.
Floor Leadership & Versatility:
Act as the "player-coach": be prepared to take a section as a server or jump behind the bar as needed. Coordinate with the Back of House (BOH) to ensure smooth kitchen timing and communication. Coordinate with the Event Manager on the execution of on-site and off-site catering events, ensuring setup and breakdown meet Spirits' standards.
Mission & Sustainability Advocacy:
Serve as a primary ambassador for Bayside Housing & Services, educating both staff and guests on how our proceeds impact the community. Promote our sustainable practices and onsite garden program as a core part of the guest experience.
Qualifications & Skills:
Experience:
Minimum 2+ years of experience in a high-volume casual or fine dining environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or "lead" role.
Technical Skills:
Strong bartending background and mixology knowledge are required. Proficiency with TOAST POS or similar systems.
Communication:
Exceptional interpersonal skills; able to lead a diverse team with empathy and clear direction.
