Job Description

The Baggage Handler / Unjammer is responsible for receiving on-call requests from control room dispatcher to clear bag jams in the baggage conveyance system, reset the system, and restore functionality. The UNJ is also responsible for collecting and transporting "non-conveyables" to different BHS areas for processing and to its final destination within the BHS.
Responsibilities:
  • Attending to stoppages and bag jams
  • Transporting non-conveyables
  • Resetting faults and alarms
  • Clearing bags
  • General labor
  • Assist where required
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Minimum of 1-year experience working in a technical environment
  • Technically inclined, with potential to learn and grow into maintaining baggage handling systems
  • Self-Starter and Pro-active
  • Detail Oriented and Stress Resistant
  • Good Verbal and Written Communication Skills
  • Working knowledge of computers and equipment
  • Customer Oriented
  • Innovative and Self Assured
  • Physically able to pick up and transport up to 70 pounds
  • Ability to complete training and security checks required to receive security badge for access to restricted airport areas
  • Observe and comply with Company, OSHA and FAA regulations regarding safety and security
  • Flexible in shift work and able to work nights, weekends, overtime and holidays Must be able to lift upto 70
Pounds Pay:
$17.86 per hour
