Job Description

Bag Room Staff This is a seasonal position from August through when the golf course closes somewhere around November. Employee golf is a benefit of working for Des Moines Golf and Country Club! Meals are provided on days that you work.
Supervisor:
Assistant Golf Professionals and Director of Golf General Summary:
To assist in all areas of Club Membership and other's golf needs not limited to cart staging, member service requests, picking and refilling range stations, opening & closing duties, cleaning clubs and shoes along with keeping carts in an organized and clean manner. This position is Member and Guest facing and professionalism, courtesy, urgency and eye contact are a must. Please note that Bag Room Attendants are typically the first and last person most Members and Guests see while experiencing the Club.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for cleaning of clubs, carts, and range balls. Ensure golf carts are neat and well presented to members. Responsible for downstairs appearance and scoreboard patio area during course of daily operations. Responsible for the charging of electric cart fleet and rental carts when necessary. Set up all new member bag storage requests: make changes on name tag board. Ensure all club sets have ID labels. Direct search for "lost clubs" daily. Coordinate all shotgun and tournament requirements with gold shop for bags and carts. Coordinate storage of guest bags during multi-day events. Responsible for pull cart fleet appearance and maintenance. Respond to bag stand needs.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Golf knowledge preferred. Be polite and courteous to members, guests and coworkers. Be a team player to fellow staff. Maintain effective communication skills, attention to detail, driven to go above and beyond to exceed expectations
Work Environment:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and be active on your feet along with long periods of standing.
