Job Description
Job Title Cart Attendant FLSA Classification Non-exempt Salary Range Commensurate with experience Reports to Head Golf Professional Job Summary The Cart Attendant is responsible for maintaining and managing golf carts, assisting members and guests with cart operations, and supporting the bag drop area. This role ensures carts are clean, charged, and ready for play while providing friendly and efficient service to enhance the overall golf experience. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions. Clean, charge, and maintain golf carts to ensure they are ready for use. Assist members and guests with loading and unloading golf bags at the bag drop area. Drive golf carts safely around the course and clubhouse as needed. Provide courteous and efficient service to members and guests. Inspect carts regularly for maintenance issues and report any problems. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cart storage and bag drop areas. Assist with setting up and breaking down carts for tournaments or special events. Follow all safety protocols and club policies related to cart use. Support golf operations staff with other duties as assigned. Competencies Strong customer service skills and friendly demeanor. Ability to perform minor cart maintenance. Safe and responsible golf cart operation. Good communication and teamwork skills. Attention to detail and reliability. Physical stamina for outdoor work and lifting golf bags. Ability to follow safety guidelines and club policies. Time management and organizational skills. Supervisory Responsibilities No supervisory duties are included in this position. Work Environment Primarily outdoors on the golf course and around the clubhouse. Exposure to varying weather conditions, including sun, rain, and wind. Frequent interaction with members, guests, and golf operations staff. Fast-paced environment during peak golf times and special events. Requires walking, standing, and physical activity throughout the shift. Physical Demands Standing and walking for extended periods, often several hours per shift Pushing and pulling heavy shopping carts, sometimes in large groups Lifting and carrying loads, such as stacking items in carts or loading/unloading carts (usually up to 50 pounds or more) Bending, stooping, and reaching frequently to pick up or arrange carts Navigating outdoor environments, including parking lots, sometimes on uneven surfaces or inclines. Weather exposure, working outside in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow) Physical stamina to keep pace with the demands of a busy retail environment Education and Experience (Required and Preferred) High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not always required. Basic reading and math skills needed to follow instructions and complete simple tasks. Prior experience in retail, customer service, or physically demanding roles helpful but not mandatory. On-the-job training provided for safety procedures, cart handling, and member interaction.
