GRA employees are responsible for connecting homeless individuals (Guests) with on-site basic needs services, including meals, showers, mail, storage, and personal care opportunities. GRA's work closely with Peer Support Specialists, Care Management Teams, Safety Officers, Housekeeping and Maintenance employees, ensuring that the campus environment is conducive to facilitating recovery from homelessness. This position requires a compassionate, empathic employee, who possesses the desire to professionally deliver services from a trauma-informed approach, offering empowering support, and facilitating the maintenance of a safe and healing environment for The Bridge Guests.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist Guests with making the connection to recovery services, including storage, showers, laundry, mail, kennel, telephone use, barber shop services, and other areas, as needed in your assigned area. Communicate support of Guests using trauma-informed care and solution-focused principles. Collaborate with Safety Officers, Peer Support Specialists, Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Services employees to promote a safe and healthy campus environment for Guests, employees, and campus visitors. Facilitate a welcoming and encouraging experience for Guests accessing services. Through a constructive engagement model communicate positive behavior using a trauma- informed approach. Appropriately and compassionately de-escalate and/or implement engaging intervention(s) with Guests exhibiting disruptive or inappropriate behavior that creates the appearance of an unsafe environment. Accurately document engagements, services delivered, incidents, and events that occur, maintaining accurate and up-to-date reporting and case notes in Client Track, per engagement. Use professional communication in addressing Guests while directing, deescalating, and providing Guest support. Understand and adhere to The Bridge policies and procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED, Associate degree preferred. 1-2 years' experience in a social service setting, or equivalent. Ability to work effectively with a diverse population in a fast paced, non-profit human services culture. History of engagement and work with unhoused citizens experiencing homelessness preferred. Strong verbal communication skills and computer skills (Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel and Access) a must. Bi-lingual a plus.

Possess capacity, communication skills, and judgement to de-escalate conflict, when necessary. Ability to prioritize collaboration with other The Bridge Departments and or disciplines.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Able to bend, stretch, and lift moderate weights (35 lbs.). Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
