Job Description

Job Description The Utility Worker maintains kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils. This role involves stocking, cleaning and sanitizing workspaces and equipment, as well setting up and taking down steam tables and counters. As a utility worker, food service duties may be required. This position will support daily food service operations at the Alaska Airlines Lounge located inside the Anchorage International Airport in Anchorage, AK. Full-time, part-time and on-call positions available. Responsibilities Washes dishes by hand or load them into a commercial dishwasher. Cleans worktables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks. Sweeps, mops, cleans, and vacuums floors. Remove trash and garbage to designated disposal areas. Moves supplies and equipment within and between storage and work areas, such as the pantry and dish room. Cleans equipment using specified chemicals to meet sanitary standards. Polishes silverware. Attend all allergy and foodborne illness in-service trainings. Reports accidents and injuries promptly. Follows all company safety and risk management policies and procedures. Participate in regular safety meetings, safety training, and hazard assessments. Attends designated training programs (classroom and virtual). Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit's success also may be assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent. The ability to work rotating shifts and varying schedules including holidays, weekends, and extended hours as business dictates. Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English. Ability to pass SIDA Badge test, which includes an assessment of knowledge related to airport security protocols, access control procedures, and safety regulations in secure and restricted areas. Ability to obtain an Alaska AOA Badge. To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria: Successfully pass an FBI fingerprint-based background check. Complete and pass a TSA Security Threat Assessment (STA). Have no outstanding warrants or be able to provide documentation of their resolution.

Environmentally controlled; requires most or all work to be done indoors, occasionally exposed to the outdoor weather.

Physical requirements:
Employee is required to lift and/or move up to 35 lbs. and/or 50 lbs. Frequently to constantly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, climb, stoop, kneel, crawl, talk/hear, see, taste/smell, and carry weight/lift.
