Hiring Food Services Workers On 1st Shift Poway, CA Job Description We are seeking a reliable food service worker/dishwasher to support daily food service operations within a hospital environment. This position plays an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen while ensuring patients, visitors, and staff receive quality meal service. Responsibilities Wash, sanitize, and store dishes, utensils, trays, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment. Operate commercial dishwashing equipment following safety and sanitation standards. Maintain cleanliness of kitchen work areas, dish room, food preparation areas, and storage locations. Assist with meal tray assembly and food service distribution as needed. Stock supplies, dishes, utensils, and food service items throughout the department. Remove trash and recycling and maintain waste disposal areas. Follow food safety, infection prevention, and sanitation guidelines at all times. Assist cooks and food service staff with basic food preparation tasks when needed. Maintain a professional and courteous attitude when interacting with patients, visitors, and team members. Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards. Essential Skills Cleaning Food service Dishwashing Food preparation Consistency and reliability Hospitality Food safety Additional Skills & Qualifications Candidates must have a valid Food Handler Card (can obtain online). Previous experience working in a kitchen. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift. Work Environment Work within a dynamic kitchen environment. 1st and 2nd shift available. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Escondido, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
