Job Summary Job Summary Description of Position Under general supervision of the Food Services Production Supervisor, incumbents perform a variety of routine tasks related to food preparation, dispensing, storage and packaging, as well as kitchen cleanliness; assist with loading/unloading and verification of food delivers from vendor; to assist in preparation of food for assembly line packing and/or to serve food at school lunch, breakfast and nutritional periods; maintains serving equipment and work areas in a clean and sanitary condition; provides clerical support for federal, state and local reporting; and perform other duties directly related to this class description.Requirements / Qualifications
THIS POSITION IS A SUBSTITUTE POSITION THAT WILL WORK 6 HOURS PER DAY PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ATTACH YOUR VALID FOOD HANDLERS CERTIFICATION OR YOU WILL BE SCREENED OUT. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth (12th) grade
- Any combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent of one (1) year of food preparation, distribution and serving.
- Food & Nutrition service experience within a school is preferred. Essential Functions and Examples of Job Duties
- Assists in verifying deliveries of food items from vendors to campus.
- Assists loading and unloading food transport vehicles from vendors.
- Stores food, assists in the proper rotation and storage of food and supplies.
- Sets up food stations, as needed.
- Assists in preparation of main dishes and/or baked goods, as needed.
- Assists with the packaging of prepared foods.
- Inventories items remaining from serving periods.
- Assists with point-of-sale computer systems.
- Apportions or wraps foods into plastic or foil trays.
- Cleans and prepares a variety of foods for serving.
- Cleans refrigerators, freezers, ovens, counters and carts.
- Maintains machines, conveyor belts, kitchen equipment and floors around packaging area in a sanitary, safe and orderly manner.
- Operates standard kitchen equipment.
- Assists with the prepares and compiles various school records and reports, correspondence, bulletins, and notices on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Supervises students in the lunch area on campus, as needed.
