Job Description

Definition:
The ATCAA Food Bank Program Operations Assistant is responsible for assisting in the day to day program operations of the Food Bank which includes: safe food handling, inventory processes, shipping, receiving, loading and securing of foods for delivery, distribution, maintenance of vehicles, facility and warehouse equipment and acquiring foods for local and out of area locations.

This Position:
Assist with all food bank program operations to include: General maintenance of facility, equipment, and vehicles, including maintaining necessary logs; Practice of safe food handling procedures, including upkeep of MSDS log; Recruitment, training, and supervision of volunteers to accomplish assignments; Arranging orders, procurement and assist with drives to maintain adequate program supplies as well as maintain food bank partnerships for supplies with other food bank associations such as Feeding America and Farm To Family; Coordinating inventory processes for all direct service programs including receipting, stocking, rotation of stock, order pulling, physical inventory reconciliations; Maintaining operational program documentation including inventories, invoices, orders, reconciliations, schedules, etc.; Supervising volunteers to pick up and deliver foods to pre-determined sites in foothills and Central Valley (includes loading and unloading trucks); Food Bank events and other operational tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
As a part of the ATCAA team, all employees play an essential role in ATCAA as a whole, and are expected to: Demonstrate and encourage a professional and positive attitude in all job related activities; Maintain confidentiality in accordance with standards outlined in the "Statement of Confidentiality and Ethics"; Accomplish all work activities in a safe and timely manner within assigned guidelines and consistent with ATCAA's Personnel Policies and Operating Procedures; Report and/or correct deficiencies that constitute immediate threats to health and safety; Complete other tasks as assigned by the supervisor that are consistent with the definition and intent of the job description;
Minimum Qualifications:
Possess a continuously valid California Driver's license and an acceptable driving record; Own dependable transportation; Have basic computer skills; Have demonstrated organizational skills; Have good customer service skills; Have the ability to: Follow verbal and written instructions; Keep accurate written records; Lift 60 pounds; Do simple math calculations; Drive a large truck; Supervise volunteers.
