In this vital role, you will be the cornerstone of maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment essential for producing high-quality food products. Responsibilities Perform thorough cleaning of food processing equipment, machinery, and work areas using appropriate cleaning agents and industrial cleaning techniques. Handle chemical agents safely, following all chemical handling safety procedures and using personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, masks, and eye protection. Conduct sanitation procedures in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure compliance with food safety standards. Utilize basic math skills to measure, mix, and apply cleaning chemicals accurately and efficiently. Maintain detailed sanitation logs, safety documentation, and inspection reports to track cleaning activities and ensure regulatory compliance. Operate custodial equipment such as scrubbers, pressure washers, and vacuum systems to facilitate efficient cleaning processes. Assist with heavy lifting tasks related to cleaning supplies or equipment movement while adhering to proper lifting techniques for safety. Skills Proven experience in cleaning, janitorial work, or custodial roles within food processing or industrial environments. Knowledge of chemical agent handling, chemical handling safety procedures, and proper use of PPE. Strong understanding of sanitation protocols aligned with GMP standards and food safety regulations. Ability to perform industrial cleaning tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail. Familiarity with basic math for measuring chemicals and recording data accurately. Commitment to following safety protocols including respiratory protection measures during chemical use or dust-generating activities. Physical capability for heavy lifting, standing for extended periods, and performing repetitive cleaning tasks in a fast-paced setting.
