We are more than just a coffee shop, we're a growing café and event venue with a private conference room, large event space, and rooftop venue. As we continue to grow, we'll expand into private events, catering, and hotel food service, creating exciting opportunities for our team. Although we've opened our doors a few months ago, we're still in the exciting early stages of building Present Company. Our official Grand Opening is still to come as we continue expanding our menu, team, and services. This is a unique opportunity to join us before that milestone and help shape the future of our café from the very beginning. Position Overview We're looking for a dependable Assistant Café Chef to support our kitchen operations during breakfast and lunch service. You'll work alongside our Café Chef to prepare fresh menu items, assist with food prep, keep the kitchen organized, receive deliveries, and help maintain a clean and efficient workspace. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys cooking, wants to continue developing their culinary skills, and is excited to grow with a new and expanding café. Responsibilities Assist with preparing fresh breakfast and lunch menu items Prep ingredients for daily service Help receive, organize, and store food deliveries Stock and organize refrigerators, freezers, and dry storage Wash dishes and maintain a clean, organized kitchen throughout the day Follow all food safety and sanitation standards Assist with inventory management and food rotation (FIFO) Support catering and special events as the business grows Work closely with the Café Chef to provide consistent, high-quality food and service Qualifications We're looking for someone who: Has kitchen, café, restaurant, or food service experience (preferred but not required) Is dependable, organized, and able to work in a fast-paced environment Enjoys cooking and learning new skills Can work both independently and as part of a team Takes pride in cleanliness, organization, and attention to detail Has a positive attitude and is excited to grow with our business Preferred Qualifications Previous experience as a prep cook, line cook, café cook, or in a similar kitchen role ServSafe Certification (or willingness to obtain) Schedule Our café is currently open:

8:00 AM - 2:00 PM This position will primarily serve as our closing kitchen team member , with a typical start time of around 9:00 AM and shifts ending after closing and kitchen cleanup, so probably 3:00 PM.
Expected schedule:
25-35 hours per week , typically 5-6 days per week . Our Café Chef will open the kitchen most days, while this role will typically handle the closing shift. However, when the Café Chef is off, you'll be expected to open the kitchen, prepare breakfast and lunch service independently, and keep the kitchen running smoothly. We'll provide the training and support needed to help you become confident in managing the kitchen on your own when the time comes.
