  • Food Manufacturing We are an established food manufacturing company operating one production line with approximately 50 employees.
We are seeking an organized, hands-on Plant Manager to lead daily factory operations and ensure production runs safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Reporting directly to the founder, the Plant Manager will have significant responsibility and authority for the facility's day-to-day operations. This is not a corporate planning position or a desk job. We need a practical leader who wants to be on the production floor—working directly with employees, making decisions, resolving problems, and keeping production moving. The Opportunity The Plant Manager is responsible for ensuring our production line is properly staffed, supplied, organized, and ready to operate each day. You will coordinate with production employees, machine operators, mechanics, warehouse, purchasing, inventory, quality, and management to ensure the right people, ingredients, packaging materials, equipment, and production schedule are in place. Throughout the manufacturing day, you will provide visible leadership on the production floor by monitoring performance, maintaining accountability, addressing problems quickly, and taking ownership of completing the daily production schedule. Because we are a smaller manufacturer, the successful candidate must be comfortable wearing multiple hats, making independent decisions, and solving problems directly on the factory floor. Key Responsibilities Lead daily production and plant operations Supervise production employees, machine operators, mechanics, and other factory personnel Ensure the production line is properly staffed and prepared for each day's schedule Coordinate production needs with warehouse, purchasing, inventory, quality, and management Confirm that ingredients, packaging, and production materials are available before each run begins Monitor production throughout the day and respond quickly to equipment, staffing, material, quality, or scheduling issues Maintain employee accountability, productivity, attendance, and compliance with company procedures Work with mechanics to prioritize repairs, prevent recurring issues, and minimize downtime Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and efficient manufacturing environment Identify and implement practical improvements in productivity, workflow, scheduling, and plant operations Take ownership of completing each day's production goals successfully Who We Are Looking For We are looking for someone who understands manufacturing, knows how to lead people on a factory floor, and wants responsibility for keeping a production operation organized and running effectively. This position may be an excellent next step for someone currently working as a: Plant Manager Assistant Plant Manager Production Manager Assistant Production Manager Production Supervisor The ideal candidate will have approximately 2-5 years of manufacturing leadership experience and be ready to take on greater responsibility and ownership. Food manufacturing experience is preferred, but we will also consider strong candidates from other manufacturing environments. Qualifications and Skills Demonstrated success supervising factory-floor employees, machine operators, and mechanics Strong hands-on leadership and people-management skills Experience with manufacturing production and scheduling Ability to organize people, materials, equipment, and competing priorities Confidence making decisions and solving problems independently Strong communication, organization, and follow-through Ability to hold employees accountable while building a productive and respectful team Practical understanding of production efficiency, equipment downtime, and workflow Experience with inventory, purchasing, warehouse operations, or material planning is a plus Experience with food manufacturing, GMPs, food safety, sanitation, or quality systems is a plus The Right Fit This position is ideal for someone who enjoys running a manufacturing floor—not managing it from an office. If you are an Assistant Plant Manager, Production Manager, or strong Production Supervisor who is ready for the next step, this is an opportunity to assume broader responsibility for an entire manufacturing operation while working directly with company ownership.
