Restaurant Busser Position Summary The Restaurant Busser is responsible for supporting servers and restaurant staff by maintaining clean, organized, and properly set dining areas. The ideal candidate is dependable, energetic, team-oriented, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant or hospitality environment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Clear and clean tables promptly and efficiently throughout the guest's dining experience. Remove used dishes, glassware, silverware, and other items from tables. Reset tables with clean plates, silverware, glassware, napkins, and other required items. Assist servers with food and beverage service as needed. Deliver food, beverages, and supplies to appropriate tables when directed. Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas, service stations, and other assigned areas. Refill water and assist guests with basic service needs when appropriate. Stock and replenish plates, silverware, glassware, napkins, condiments, and other supplies. Assist with pre-shift and post-shift restaurant setup and breakdown. Sweep and maintain floors and promptly address spills or other safety hazards. Transport dirty dishes to the dishwashing area and assist with dishwashing duties when needed. Communicate effectively with servers, hosts, bartenders, kitchen staff, and supervisors. Follow all food safety, sanitation, health, and workplace safety procedures. Provide courteous and professional service to guests at all times. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications Previous restaurant, hotel, banquet, or hospitality experience preferred but not required. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to cleanliness and detail. Dependable, punctual, and professional. Ability to follow instructions and respond quickly to changing priorities. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and lift throughout the shift. Ability to lift and carry trays, dishes, supplies, and other items weighing up to 25-50 pounds as required. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment for extended periods. Schedule Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must be available to work varying schedules based on restaurant and business needs. Preferred Skills Previous high-volume restaurant or hotel experience. Experience in upscale or luxury hospitality environments. Strong teamwork and multitasking skills. Ability to anticipate the needs of servers and guests. Professional appearance and commitment to excellent guest service.
