• Full-time John's Island Club is seeking a Lead Steward to join the behind-the-scenes team that brings our events to life.

This is a full-time, year-round position with steady hours and a full benefits package. If you've worked in a kitchen, restaurant, catering or other food-service operation and you're ready for more responsibility, this could be the next step for you. As our Lead Steward, you'll help set up banquet and event spaces before each event — arranging plates, serving dishes, utensils, and equipment based on the Chef's plan. During events, you'll keep buffets stocked, deliver food to service areas, and make sure every station has what it needs. When the event is over, you'll help with cleanup, polishing, and returning everything to its proper place. As the lead, you'll work right alongside the stewarding team — guiding others through the service, and making sure everyone knows what to do and where to be. You won't just do the work; you'll help keep the whole team on track. This is an active role — you'll be on your feet and moving through kitchens, banquet rooms, and outdoor spaces throughout your shift. Working closely with our cooks and supervisors, your communication will help our events run smoothly.

Essentials:

Familiar with kitchen safety, cleanliness, and food-handling standards Able to speak and read English, and follow event sheets and room diagrams Work well under pressure when events get busy Able to lift/move up to 40 lbs. and be on your feet for long hours.
