Division/Department/Program:
Residential SUD Services (GRAN & PACE Detox) The Food Service Worker is responsible for overseeing daily kitchen operations and meal service within a residential substance use disorder treatment program. This role plays a key part in supporting a structured, safe, and therapeutic environment by providing nutritious, well-prepared meals and maintaining a clean and compliant kitchen. The ideal candidate is reliable, organized, and takes pride in creating a welcoming dining experience while adhering to all health, safety, and sanitation standards. GRAN Recovery Center is a 28-day Intensive Residential Substance Use Disorder treatment program (ASAM 3.5) focused on stabilization, structure, and early recovery skill development. The Food Service Worker supports the daily rhythm and structure of the program by ensuring consistent meal service, maintaining kitchen operations, and contributing to a positive environment for clients and staff. This role requires attention to detail, consistency, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with the broader team.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Plans, prepares, and serves meals and snacks in accordance with established menus and nutritional guidelines. Ensure meals are prepared and served on schedule to support program structure and client routines. Adjusts meal preparation as needed to accommodate dietary restrictions, allergies, or medical needs. Ensure food is presented in an appealing and professional manner. Follows all safe food handling procedures to ensure the health and safety of clients and staff. Ensures compliance with Health Department regulations and maintains inspection scores of 90 or higher. Monitors food temperatures and storage conditions to ensure compliance with safety standards. Maintains accurate logs and documentation related to food safety, storage, and preparation. Follows all MSDS guidelines and agency protocols for chemical use and sanitation. Ensures proper receipt, storage, and rotation of food and kitchen supplies. Monitors inventory levels and communication needs for ordering in a timely manner. Minimize waste through proper planning, storage, and portioning. Supports tracking of kitchen-related expenses and supply usage as directed Maintains a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment at all times.
Performs routine cleaning duties including:
Cleaning kitchen equipment, appliances, and food preparation areas Washing dishes and utensils Cleaning floors, surfaces, and storage areas Completes cleaning duties after each meal service and at the end of each shift. Follows infectious disease cleaning protocols, including enhanced sanitation procedures when required. Interact with clients in a respectful, courteous, and professional manner during meal service. Supports a positive and structured dining environment consistent with recovery-oriented care. Communicate effectively with staff regarding meal schedules, dietary needs, and operational updates. Collaborate with program staff to support overall unit operations and client experience. Supports Facilities Supervisor with tasks such as inventory tracking, supply monitoring, and maintenance requests as needed. Participates in safety drills and adheres to all agency safety protocols. Performs other duties as assigned to support program operations. Successful candidates will demonstrate strength in the following areas: Dependable and able to maintain consistent routines that support program structure Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain efficiency in a fast-paced environment Strong understanding of sanitation, food handling, and health regulations Professional, respectful interactions with clients and staff Ensures accuracy in food preparation, cleanliness, and compliance standards Other program related duties as assigned by leadership.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED AND One (1) year of experience in the area of assignment; or one (1) year of experience at the lower-level Food Service Worker 2 (FFS011) or position equivalent.

Any combination of knowledge, education, job or inter experience, training, or certification that provides the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted year-over-year.
Preferred Qualifications:
ServSafe Certification or equivalent food safety certification. Experience working in a residential, healthcare, or institutional food service setting
Requirements/Competencies:
Must be able to lift 20 pounds. Requires long periods of sitting/standing. Must have valid Georgia driver's license and Motor Vehicle Record in accordance with company policy. Candidates for selection must pass a criminal background check (including fingerprinting) Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and subject to random drug screens.
