Job Description
HISTORY:
La Grange Country Club is continually expanding with steady membership growth and social engagements. With renovations nearing completion and consistent member events, sponsored events, club events on the calendar, LGCC is seeking an assistant catering manager that will assist in providing support to team members during an event life cycle and club operations.POSITION SUMMARY
This role will be primarily responsible for the supervision of the banquet staff and coordinating food and beverage services within the banquet department. This role will assist and support the Catering Director by ensuring operations behind the event are executed successfully and to standards set by Club Management. This position will require administrative assistance, which may include printing event orders, menus, or other documents required. This role ensures exceptional service, coordinates with club departments, and maintains high-quality standards to enhance the member and guest experience. This role will work directly with the Catering Director, Assistant General Manager and other managers as needed.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Meet and greet members during events [member hosted/sponsor/club events] in a friendly and warm manner, displaying consistent and excellent customer service skills.
- Coordinates with the team ensure event host expectations and desires are met
- Oversees and supports teams during the setup of events
- Supports the Catering Director by assisting in distributing the communication for the details of the events
- Checks and maintains banquet rooms and service areas for proper setups and cleanliness as set by the Catering Director.
- Oversee and confirm side work duties for opening and closing are complete before an event begins and before colleagues depart for the day.
- Oversee that event agendas are continuously on track
- Adhering to all Club processes as set forth and providing feedback from service team members to management.
- Assist in finalized billing when needed.
- Pull Club Event registration lists and provide to necessary department(s) and colleagues.
- Uphold a continuous positive work environment with managers and fellow colleagues.
- Maintain and process rentals needed for events
- Performs other duties as outlined and assigned by direct managers.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience in a hospitality environment with emphasis on events/banquets.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Flexible schedule, must be able to work nights, holidays and weekends
- Must consistently lead by example by providing a supportive work environment and reliability.
- Must be able to work within a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
- Have/ able to get Basset Certified and Food Handler/Safety Certified
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
