Job Description

Pear Tree - Hel's Catering is looking for a full-time Catering/Banquet Captain. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional to work with a company committed to providing extraordinary hospitality and a positive team-oriented work environment. We are seeking a meticulous event captain to supervise and manage events for our company. As the event captain, ensuring that operations run smoothly, and prioritizing the comfort and safety of our guests. To be a successful event captain, you should have strong leadership skills and be able to manage multiple streams of information. Ultimately, a top-notch captain should remain calm in highly stressful situations and demonstrate excellent time management and organizational skills.
Requirements:
An outgoing friendly personality, good people skills & a strong work ethic are extremely important. Must have strong experience leading events of 200 - 300 people. Desire to provide exceptional hospitality and services to clients and guests. Must be able to supervise Front and Back of House staff. Leadership, organizational qualities, and the ability to remain calm under pressure are essential. Must be responsible, able to honor schedule commitments and be on time as scheduled. A neat well-groomed appearance and professional attire is required. Full-time position - Flexible scheduling - Early Mornings, Late Nights, Weekend hours will be required. Overtime paid at time-and-a-half. Part-time positions will have hours available as needed and agreed to by the employee. Reliable transportation to our location is required. Be able to drive our vehicles of cars, vans, and trucks. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, ability to lift, push/pull or carry catering equipment. Ability to walk/stand for extended periods of time; shifts vary between 6 to 10 hours. Must have a clean driving record. Illinois BASSET and Food Handlers Certifications required within 30 days. Illinois Food Manager Certification required within 60 days. Eligible for tip income Eligible for healthcare for Full-time position Eligible for year-end bonus DUI history within the past seven years will not be hired and must be disclosed to us
