Johnson Academy is seeking a dependable, student-focused Bus Monitor / Cafeteria Support Staff Member to join our team. This full-time position plays an important role in ensuring student safety during transportation and providing support to our food service program. Position Title Bus Monitor / Cafeteria Support Staff Compensation & Benefits $15.00 - $16.50 per hour (based on experience) Full-time position Benefits eligible $4,000 Incentive Package Paid holidays Opportunities for professional growth and advancement Position Summary The Bus Monitor / Cafeteria Support Staff member supports the safe transportation of students to and from school and assists with daily cafeteria operations, including meal service, student supervision, and maintaining a clean, organized dining environment. Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesBus Monitor Duties Assist the bus driver in maintaining a safe and orderly environment during transportation. Supervise student behavior while loading, riding, and unloading the bus. Help students safely enter and exit the bus. Assist students with special needs as directed. Monitor bus safety procedures and report concerns to administration. Communicate effectively with drivers, families, and school staff regarding student transportation issues. Cafeteria Support Duties Assist with preparing and serving breakfast and lunch meals. Support cafeteria staff during meal service. Monitor and supervise students during breakfast and lunch periods. Help maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the cafeteria. Assist with stocking supplies and organizing serving areas. Follow all food safety and health regulations. Additional Responsibilities Provide general supervision of students as assigned. Assist with school events and activities when needed. Perform other duties as assigned by administration. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED preferred. Experience working with children preferred. Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and staff. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Must successfully complete all required background checks. Work Schedule This is a full-time school-year position with a split schedule supporting both student transportation and cafeteria operations.
Pay:
$15.00 - $16.50 per hour
