Job Description
Job Summary Nelson's Catering and Fundraising is looking for dependable, service-minded team members to help deliver exceptional events throughout our region. As a Catering Team Member, you will help prepare event spaces, serve food and beverages, assist guests, maintain a clean and organized service area, and complete event teardown. You will work alongside other catering professionals to ensure each event is executed efficiently, safely, and with attention to detail. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role for someone who enjoys working with people, contributing to a team, and helping create memorable experiences for guests. Duties Load, transport, unload, and organize food, beverages, serving supplies, and event equipment. Set up tables, buffet lines, beverage stations, serving areas, and other event spaces according to the event plan. Assist with food preparation, plating, presentation, and replenishment during service. Serve food and beverages professionally, efficiently, and courteously. Welcome guests, answer questions, accommodate reasonable requests, and provide attentive service. Monitor buffet lines, dining areas, and service stations to ensure they remain clean, organized, and properly stocked. Clear tables, remove dishes and waste, and maintain cleanliness throughout the event. Follow established food-handling, sanitation, and safety procedures. Assist with event teardown, packing, cleanup, and returning equipment and supplies. Communicate with event leaders and fellow team members to maintain an efficient service flow. Respond calmly and helpfully when plans change or unexpected needs arise. Represent Nelson's professionally when interacting with clients, guests, venue personnel, and coworkers. Requirements Friendly, professional, and committed to providing excellent customer service. Dependable and able to arrive on time for scheduled shifts. Comfortable working in a fast-paced and physically active environment. Able to follow instructions while also recognizing when something needs to be done. Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude. Careful and attentive to details involving presentation, cleanliness, and guest service. Willing to receive coaching and learn Nelson's service standards.
