Job Description

Food Service / Direct Support Worker 1 Mccord Road, Houma, LA 70363 From $11 an hour - Full-time From $11 an hour - Full-time At TARC, we believe inclusion in our community is essential to providing exceptional opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. As a Food Service/Direct Support Worker , you'll help produce our popular baked goods, candies, fresh salsas, and pepper jellies while teaching and supporting individuals as they develop valuable job skills and greater independence in TARC's Cajun Confections Retail Bakery and Houma Grown Salsas and Pepper Jelly businesses.
Responsibilities include:
Work alongside and teach job skills to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. Prepare, cook, bake, package, and label bakery items, candies, salsas, pepper jellies, and other specialty food products. Follow recipes, food safety, sanitation, and quality control standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe kitchen and production area. Complete required client documentation and production records. Assist with inventory, packaging, and other daily production needs. Provide excellent customer service when needed. Work flexible hours to meet production and distribution schedules.
Qualifications:
Compassion for working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Food service, bakery, kitchen, or food production experience preferred, but not required. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds. Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills. Dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to producing high-quality products. Pay:
From $11.00 per hour
