Job Description

To provide each student and staff member in the school with food of high nutritious quality in an atmosphere of cleanliness, cheerfulness ,and personal caring.

Prepares and assists in serving of food according to standards related to sanitary conditions; uses all cooking equipment correctly; uses correct recipes, serving sizes, and makes certain service is done in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Uses objective and subjective indicators to evaluate food quality.
  • Follow standards to check temperature of food and equipment.
  • Follows meal pattern requirements in serving student meals.
  • Follows standards of safety in preparing, storing ,and serving food.
  • Receives and stores deliveries, ensuring products are labeled, dated, and rotated using FIFO (first in, first out) method
  • Places all grocery, paper, milk, produce, bread, and miscellaneous orders with support of supervisor
  • Maintain personal habits to meet sanitation standards.
  • Accept payment and make change.
  • Operates POS (point of service) system for students and adults.
  • Completes inventory of food and supplies when necessary.
  • Attends job-related training classes and workshops.
  • Preparing daily bank deposit for pick up by courier or operations supervisor.
  • Any other jobs as assigned Supervision Received Works under the supervision of the Operations Supervisor, Nutrition Coordinator, and Director of Food and Nutrition Services for Andover Public Schools.
Supervision Exercised May supervise part time, full time staff, or temporary staff as assigned under the direction of the Operations Supervisor. No authority to reward or discipline utility workers. Disciplinary action falls under the duties of the Operations Supervisor. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk, hear and use hands to operate kitchen equipment.
