Position Information Title Work Study BSU Food Pantry Assistant
Position Description The BSU Food Pantry is overseen by the Division for Student Life with guidance from the BSU Food Pantry Advisory Board. This advisory board is made up of faculty, staff, and students. Bears Who Care, a student-run club on campus, is also integrally involved in the efforts of the BSU Food Pantry and in assisting their peers with food insecurities through fundraising efforts and volunteerism among other activities. The Food Pantry Assistant will be responsible for tracking inventory and helping organize the on-campus food donations.
This will include:
Inventory and organize pantry items into like categorizes/sizes
Collect donations to restock pantries as needed
Creating outreach items such as flyers and social media post
Utilizing software to assist with data collection and inventory management
Other duties as assigned Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required for this role include:
Ability to handle confidential information
Must possess strong customer service skills
Must enjoy working with a variety of people.
Must possess a general clerical work aptitude.
Knowledge of the internet, including social media Eligibility requirements:
Must be a Bridgewater State University undergraduate student registered for a minimum of six credits for the Fall 2026 semester.
Must have Work Study award in your financial aid package Preferred Qualifications Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
Ability to communicate effectively in a tactful and courteous manner with a variety of people, including students, employees, faculty, and the general public
Ability to manage interpersonal conflict situations requiring tact, diplomacy and discretion.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram form
