Specific vision abilities required in this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

POSITION OVERVIEW

: The Food Service Worker performs tasks in the preparation and service of food to students and staff in the Brookline Public Schools.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Prepares food with minimum supervision, using standard recipes Serves students and staff in a pleasant and efficient manner, and using proper serving sizes Cashiers at point-of-sale terminals Assists in the receipt of orders and supplies Keeps storeroom, refrigerator, and freezer in good order per HACCP guidelines Keeps a simple production record of what we prepare and serve daily Ensuring the temperature of prepared food is correct per HACCP requirements when directed by the manager Sets up and breaks down serving lines, using proper sanitation procedures Cleans kitchen equipment and work area. This includes washing dishes, pots, pans, cafeteria eating areas, and any other general cleaning as needed Reports to work in a complete uniform and is ready to work at the scheduled time, accurately completes the time sheet, and remains on the job until dismissed Performs other duties as assigned by the manager to support the goals of the Food Service Department May be required to travel to various locations to cover shortages.

Ability to lift 50lbs, stand continuously, and engage in moderate physical work Good overall physical health Excellent interpersonal and communication skills English competency Ability to work harmoniously with others and demonstrate cheerful professionalism ServSafe Certification preferred.
