POSITION SUMMARY

: The Café Attendant is responsible for performing established Steps of Service to ensure that each resident, guest, and team member receives both gracious and efficient service in the Health Center Café.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties are normal for this position. This list is not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. Stock and replenish all food and paper supplies prior to, during and following service. Handles and serves food in accordance with all HAACP guidelines and sanitation standards. May operate cash register and point of sale software. Perform established Steps of Service to ensure that each resident, guest and team member receives gracious and efficient service.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS

: Primary work will be performed indoors in an office setting, may be exposed to the elements (heat, cold, rain, snow); walking and standing frequently; occasional lifting of up to 35 pounds. Work primarily indoors in a climate controlled setting. Atmosphere may be warm for cooking. Possible exposure to unpleasant odors Possible exposure to chemicals as identified in the MSDS Manual Possible exposure to infections, diseases and blood borne pathogens Is subject to injury from falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc., throughout the workday, as well as to reactions from dust, disinfectants, tobacco smoke, and other air contaminants. May be exposed to sudden heat and cold temperature changes in kitchen and storage areas. Continuous exposure to residents who are ill, confused, irritable and irrational
