Job Description
Cafe Assistant Part Time (Green Street Cafe) (Pool) This particular job posting is a "Pool" position. There may or may not be available openings at this time however, when an opening does occur, the hiring manager will draw from the pool of applicants we have on file on an as needed basis. Applicants for positions will not be notified of their status unless they are contacted to come in for an interview, which might occur soon after applying or as much as a year later. General Statement of Duties Café Assistants serve a variety of roles including, but not limited to dishwashing, serving, and cashiering; washing dishes according to Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or other required standards; cleaning, sanitizing surfaces and serving food safely and efficiently; operating a point of sales system, auditing and balancing a cash register/point of sale cash drawer. Responsibilities Washes dishes according to FDA standards. Using a three bay sink to appropriately clean, rinse and sanitize all cooking utensils, plates, trays and equipment. Communicates with other food service personnel when items on the line require additional quantity, improvement in taste or appearance. Communicates with Cooks or other supervisors when items need to be replaced or purchased based on level of use. Serves hot and cold food according to FDA guide lines. Audits drawer of point of sales system daily at beginning of shift and end of shift to balance; makes deposits of daily revenue to business office. Operates point of sales system according to menu items available each day. Stocks coolers, grab and go reach ins and communicates to supervisor items out of date or items that are nearing expiration.

Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications Applicants must have at least 6 months of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience in serving, cashiering or dishwashing duties High School diploma or equivalent Desired Qualifications 1 yr relevant experienceRequired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
