Evenings Make an Impact with Baystate Health Baystate Health is seeking a Food Service Aide to join the Food and Nutrition Department at Baystate Wing Hospital in Palmer, Massachusetts. Our Food and Nutrition team supports patients and visitors by preparing, assembling, and delivering meals throughout the hospital while maintaining high standards for food safety, sanitation, accuracy, and customer service. Working closely with patients, nursing staff, patient services, and other hospital teams, you will help ensure meals are delivered safely, accurately, and with care. The Food Service Aide role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the patient experience while building valuable experience in food service and healthcare. You will be an important part of the daily patient feeding process, from food preparation and tray assembly to meal delivery and sanitation.The Food Service Aide Will:
Gather and assemble food items for the patient feeding system, ensuring meals and food items are prepared accurately and efficiently. Assemble patient trays and deliver meals to patients' rooms while providing courteous, respectful service. Deliver and set up food items for the patient feeding system, including properly labeling and dating items. Retrieve patient feeding system carts following meal service and assist with disassemble, wash, and prepare them for the next meal. Follow daily sanitation, food safety, and safe food handling practices to maintain a clean and safe food service environment. Maintain basic records and documentation to track required daily information and support accurate meal service operations. Communicate calmly and professionally with patients, nursing staff, coworkers, and other members of the care team. Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives and support department and organizational goals.Schedule Details Job Type:
