Job Overview:
The Food Runner at our hospital plays a crucial role in our patient care experience. This position involves ensuring the timely delivery of meals to patients, maintaining dietary guidelines, and contributing to a positive atmosphere. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, compassionate, and committed to providing excellent service.
Qualifications:
Required:
Successful completion of general and department specific orientation Previous experience in a food service role Knowledge of dietary restrictions and food safety standards Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Able to work in a very fast-paced environment
Preferred:
Experience in a healthcare setting Certification in food handling and safety Bilingual abilities Excellent problem-solving skills
Scheduling Requirements:
Shift working 6:30am-3:00pm Candidate must be available to work on weekends and holidays.
Essential Functions:
Deliver meals to patients in a timely and respectful manner Adhere to dietary restrictions and guidelines for each patient Maintain cleanliness and organization of food service areas Collaborate with the healthcare and dietary team to ensure patient satisfaction. Assist in inventory management and meal preparation as needed.
