Pay:
$25 per hour
Schedule:
Will vary when assisting events- nights and weekends. Also is seasonally busy.
Hours:
25-28 hours per week.
Overview:
The Assistant Catering & Events Coordinator supports the planning and execution of both member and non-member events by ensuring every event is organized and professionally executed. This role is primarily focused on event logistics, on-site coordination, and delivering a memorable experience for members and guests. The Assistant will also provide administrative support to the Catering & Events Manager as well as serve as an active presence during events, helping ensure seamless operations from setup through breakdown.
Job Duties:
Assist in coordinating and executing club events from initial preparation through event completion. Review and adhere to event guidelines, as provided in the Banquet and Event Order form. Coordinate event setup, including linens, décor, tables, glassware, signage, buffets, and other event materials. Assist with event scheduling, client communications, answering inquiries, and other administrative tasks that the Catering & Events Manager may need. Serve as the primary on-site contact for banquet staff in the absence of the Catering & Events Manager. May run small events from start to finish independently. Assist with menu and name tag design. Communicating and supervising colleagues to ensure a smooth event. Creating a pleasant atmosphere for dining and entertainment. Set-up, maintain, and break down of events including buffets, linens, glassware, flowers and other items. Pick up and drop off linen orders and event decorations, as needed. May need to fill in as banquet staff or bartender, as needed. Adhere to all The Woodlands Clubs policies and procedures. All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Previous banquet experience, or 3-5 years server experience, required. Must be 21 years of age or older to serve drinks without supervision, per Maine State Law. Ability to carry up to 50 lbs. Ability to bend, stand, lift, pull, and work overhead. Ability to stand for up to 8 hours at a time. Strong time management and communication skills. Travel required to pick up decorations, must have a valid driver's license. The Woodlands Club is an equal opportunity employer.
