Location:
Retail Branded Concepts -Looking a new team member to work at The Workshop at the STEM Teaching and Learning Facility! As an On-Call for Retail Branded Concepts, you will be responsible for assisting all staff members with all aspects of the operation. You will be the face of the operation assisting customers with purchases, food/drink orders, offering and explaining current promotional opportunities, addressing guest concerns that arise during the shift, and always Delivering Outstanding Spartan experiences (DOSE) in every interaction. Some operations include cooking and serving of food. You must be knowledgeable of all relevant food safety regulations, standards, and guidelines to ensure the safe handling and serving of all food and drink items to customers. It is an expectation of your position you will make certain the guests of Culinary Services receive outstanding customer service during every visit. Typical duties include, but are not limited to: Delivering outstanding Spartan experiences (DOSE) in every interaction Assisting customer with purchases, including food/drink orders, addressing guest concerns that arise during the shift Ensuring your understanding, and team member and guest awareness, of current promotional opportunities Addressing and troubleshooting any operational/equipment problems and site needs at assigned location Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of site through daily rounds and cleaning, during shift and after close Daily food production as assigned, using knowledge and practice of all relevant food safety regulations, standards, and guidelines Operating cash register/POS system, following all cash handling procedures (as applicable) Knowledge of store products and wayfinding within site Stocking, upkeep of displays, merchandising, FIFO practices, and monitoring inventories levels Moving product to other Retail Services sites as requested, such as equipment, paper products, cleaning products etc. Completing special projects as assigned by full-time managers and site coordinators Maintaining a high degree of employee morale, demonstrating a positive, professional work approach Communicating with supervisors, managers, and all other team members to ensure excellent teamwork, service and customer assistance Assisting in special event prep and service as needed Working athletic events at sporting venues and Ag Pavilion Lifting and moving up to 25 pounds Standing, walking >90% of shift Bend and straighten at waist and/or squat repeatedly throughout shift If you have any questions about or would like any assistance applying for this position please contact The Retail Services Onboarding Team at Qualifications Previous restaurant and/or food service experience Reliable personal transportation Ability and strong desire to deliver outstanding Spartan experiences to both guests and teammates. Communicate effectively with supervisors, managers, and other team members, remaining positive and respectful, especially when working with a diverse population. Ability to amicably receive constructive direction from supervisor/manager, and to professionally, quickly and efficiently implement same to improve product, and/or service. May be reassigned during the course of the shift, depending upon operational needs Maintain standards of personal hygiene consistent with sanitation rules and regulations required. Employ basic computer use to complete online compliance training, and use a register Must have ability and willingness to Complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision Lift and move up to 25 pounds, and stand/walk for long periods of time Bend and straighten at waist and/or squat, sometimes repeatedly during shift Work all shifts as scheduled, remaining flexible to needs of the operation Must be able to work varied shifts, including early mornings (possible start 7:00AM) and/ or late afternoons (possible end time: 5:00PM). Ending times are approximate based on workload and completion of all closing tasks. Must be able to work weekends You may be scheduled for weekend shifts on an alternating weekend basis, or on a weekly basis, depending on needs of the operation. While on your shift, you will report to student and/or full-time supervisors and full-time management staff on duty.
