Palette Café Attendant Flint Institute of Arts Flint, MI Job Details Part-time $15 an hour 12 hours ago Benefits Employee discount Flexible schedule Qualifications Pre-cooking preparation Café experience High school diploma or GED Attention to detail Organizational skills Full Job Description Flint Institute of Arts | Palette Café Attendant Department Visitor Experience Reports to Palette Café Manager Job Summary The part-time Palette Café Attendant provides excellent customer service while supporting the daily operations, sales, food preparation, cleanliness, and organization of the Palette Café. Schedule Seeking a candidate with open availability for part-time position up to 20hrs/week. Café hours are Monday - Thursday and Saturday 10-5p, Friday 10-8p, Sunday 1-5p. Key Responsibilities Provide friendly, professional customer service and maintain the service standards set forth by the FIA. Prepare and serve made-to-order food and beverages, including sandwiches, wraps, pizza, soup, specialty coffees, and pastries. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service requirements, including ServSafe and TAM standards. Monitor and document food preparation, storage, expiration dates, inventory, and product levels. Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked café and kitchen throughout the day, including opening and closing duties. Accurately process sales, manage cash, and document discrepancies. Follow established recipes, product guides, logs, and café procedures. Perform other duties as needed to support the efficient operation of the café. Job Experience Requirements High school diploma or GED required. Previous food service or customer service experience preferred. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, reliability, and a positive, professional attitude are essential. Physical Requirements Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. This position requires moving, walking, lifting, grasping, reaching, pushing, pulling, bending, and kneeling. Requires ability to work entire shift standing.
