About This Position:
The Food Service Supervisor (Shift Supervisor) prepares and serves a variety of food items following assigned work instructions and menus. You will also use a variety of food preparation utensils and machines in preparing food. You will report to a Food Service Director. You will work onsite inside of a jail/correctional facility. Flexible Essential Functions/Main Responsibilities:
Manage inmate labor and/or team members in the kitchen during food prep and food service shifts in the kitchen. Assist inmate labor and/or team members in the preparation of a variety of food items following departmental work production standards, standardized recipes, and work instructions. Follow assigned facility housekeeping and safety practices in all preparation, oversight, and serving of correctional facility meals. Other responsibilities as determined by our needs.
What You'll Need:
Minimum Requirements:
We require a high school diploma or GED, and that you are at least 18 years of age. We require a valid driver's license. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Preferred Requirements:
Prior institutional food service or restaurant, cafeteria experience is a plus, but not necessary. We prefer ServSafe® Food Handler certification. We offer an additional $0.25/hour with certification and we'll provide the training.
