December-April Join the team at Spirit Mountain , an exciting outdoor ski area offering a vibrant and dynamic work environment throughout the winter season! As a Café Worker , you'll be part of a fun and energetic crew, working at the Main Skyline Chalet to provide excellent food and beverage service to our guests. Your role will involve preparing and delivering orders accurately, operating the point of sales system, and ensuring a positive experience for all visitors. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and are ready to embrace the winter season, this position is perfect for you!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Open/close the café following established guidelines. Greet and interact with guests in a friendly manner as they enter or leave. Accurately prepare and deliver food and beverage orders. Operate the point of sales system to process payments (cash, credit cards, coupons, etc.) and handle money responsibly. Maintain cleanliness and organization of workspace, including counters, food stations, and dish area. Prepare and handle food in accordance with MN Health and Food Codes. Cross-sell products and introduce guests to new menu items. Address and resolve guest concerns while providing helpful information about Spirit Mountain's amenities and offerings. Operate equipment such as dishwashers and cooking appliances as directed.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be at least 16 years old (students aged 14-15 may work with restrictions on hours and schedules). Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact pleasantly and professionally with guests. Attention to detail and basic math skills for handling payments. Basic knowledge of electronic equipment such as a cash register, point of sale system, and credit card scanner. Ability to work under pressure during high-volume periods, especially weekends and holidays. Willingness to work flexible hours , including evenings and weekends. Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic. Must be able to attend scheduled shifts reliably.
Physical Requirements:
Frequently required to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift and move objects between 5-20 pounds regularly. Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or climb as necessary.
