Job Description
Food Service Supervisor Assistant - ( 26141778 ) The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity as a Food Service Supervisor PM at the Montana Veterans' Home. The Montana Veterans' Home (MVH) , located in Columbia Falls, is a Medicare/Medicaid and Veterans Administration-certified facility with 105 intermediate/skilled-care beds and 12 domiciliary beds. The nursing facility includes a 15-bed Dementia Care unit. MVH has been providing services to Veterans since 1896. The Montana Veterans' Home is located next to the Flathead River just minutes away from Glacier National Park. A large pavilion, walking paths, and protected courtyards provide ample opportunities for outdoor access. The facility offers individual and group activities, spiritual services, support group services, and social services. The skilled and rehabilitative services include physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and dietitian services.

Job Overview:
The Montana Veterans' Home is a certified facility that has been providing services to Veterans since 1896. Admission is for honorably discharged veterans eligible for skilled/intermediate nursing care or domiciliary self-care living. This position is an evening Food Service Supervisor; responsibilities include: 1) Using predetermined menu plans, orders and purchases foods to be prepared for residents; 2) Trains staff and participates in food preparation and service. Instructs staff on cooking, temperature of food, food delivery, and tray appearance; and 3) Ensures sanitation and safety procedures are followed by instructing staff on proper techniques and procedures. This position supervises 8 FTE.Position and Schedule:
10:30 am - 7:00 pm; Thursday - Monday.Union:

Physical and Environmental Demands:
This position works throughout the facility but is exposed to extreme temperatures from the ovens and freezers. The work area may be humid and noisy. Walking, standing, bending, and kneeling are required. May be required to push, pull, and lift up to 20 pounds.
