Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and bilingual Assistant Hot Foods Manager to join our team. This role is integral to ensuring the smooth operation of our fast-paced food service environment, with a focus on hot foods section. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, culinary expertise, and excellent customer service abilities. Experience in food preparation, restaurant management, and staff training are highly valued. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a vibrant hospitality setting while developing your management skills within the food industry. Duties Assist in overseeing daily operations of the hot foods and bakery departments, ensuring quality standards are met. Supervise and train staff on food preparation, safety protocols, and customer service procedures. Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies and monitoring stock levels. Handle cash transactions accurately through POS systems and ensure proper cash handling procedures are followed. Coordinate shift management, including scheduling staff and ensuring adequate coverage during peak hours. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards within the kitchen and service areas. Support culinary operations by preparing food items, supervising cooking processes, and maintaining product presentation standards. Assist in managing budgets, controlling costs, and optimizing food production processes. Provide excellent customer service by addressing guest inquiries and resolving issues promptly. Participate in staff hiring, interviewing, and ongoing training & development initiatives to foster a skilled team environment. Requirements Bilingual proficiency in English and another language (e.g., Spanish) is required to effectively communicate with diverse team members and guests. Previous experience in restaurants, casual dining, or fine dining environments is preferred. Demonstrated leadership experience in restaurant management or hospitality management roles. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen operations, and food safety standards. . Proven ability to supervise staff, manage shifts, and handle customer service issues efficiently. Experience in food handling, catering, hot foods operations, or barista/café environments is advantageous. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting. Strong communication skills in both English and the second language to facilitate team coordination and guest interactions. Previous experience with budgeting, training & development, and food production is highly desirable.
