Job Description

FOOD SERVICE WORKER
Summary:
Prepares, presents, and serves food as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prep work including, washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding vegetables and fruits along with weighing and measuring designated ingredients.
  • Carries pans, kettles, and trays of food to and from work stations, stove, and refrigerator while maintaining all safety standards.
  • Properly stores foods in designated areas following wrapping, dating, and food safety and rotation procedures.
  • Cleans work areas, equipment and utensils.
  • Distributes supplies, utensils, and portable equipment.
  • Utilizes approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control.
  • Interacts with co-workers to ensure compliance with company service standards, and inventory and cash control procedures.
  • Assures compliance with all sanitation and safety requirements.
  • Performs other duties and functions as assigned.
Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous food service or institutional cooking experience preferred Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices Ability to follow instructions and standardized recipes Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work in a structured, secure environment Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds Frequent bending, lifting, and repetitive motions Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Work Environment Secure correctional facility setting Interaction with incarcerated individuals under supervision Exposure to kitchen equipment, heat, and noise Must comply with all safety, security, and confidentiality requirements Additional Requirements Must pass background check and security clearance Ability to adhere to strict confidentiality and professional conduct standards Willingness to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
