The Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District is seeking reliable, friendly, and team-oriented individuals to join our Food Service Department. These part-time, school-year positions play an important role in providing healthy meals and creating a positive dining experience for our students each day.
Food Service Workers assist with the preparation and serving of meals, maintain a clean and organized kitchen and dining area, and support the daily operations of the school cafeteria. Work is performed under the direct supervision of food service supervisory staff.
Typical Responsibilities
Assist with the preparation and serving of meals
Heat and portion pre-cooked foods
Prepare meal trays and assist with food setup
Wash dishes by hand or machine
Clean kitchen equipment, dining areas, tables, chairs, and trays
Clean and prepare vegetables and other food items
Set up and replenish dining areas as needed
Maintain clean dish, utensil, and linen storage areas
Perform related food service and sanitation duties as assigned
Qualifications
Prior food service experience is helpful but not required
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to follow oral and written instructions
Working knowledge of food service practices and cleaning methods is preferred
Physical ability to perform the duties of the position

Monday-Friday | 8:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. (5.5 hours/day)
Monday-Friday | 7:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. (5.5 hours/day)
Stevens Elementary School (1 Position)
Monday-Friday | 8:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. (5.5 hours/day)
